Houston Senior Marche Taylor did not make it past the lobby. School officials stopped her and refused to let her enter prom because her dress violated school dress code policy. She was told she would have to go home and change if she wanted to attend prom.
"The young lady came to the prom wearing an inappropriate dress after the students were told what the guidelines were," Houston Independent School District press secretary Terry Abbott said.
The school guidelines said, " Only one inch of an attendants' midsection was permitted to be shown and slits in dresses could be no more than three inches above the knee. Additionally, see-through fabrics should not be worn in places which reveal private body parts."
Students planning to attend the function were required to sign the guideline document and return it to their homeroom teacher. If students did not sign the guidelines and adhere to the dress code, they would not be allowed to attend the prom, school officials said.
Taylor failed to leave the prom when she was asked to, according to Abbott, and instead began making a scene. Abbott said Taylor began yelling and acting "belligerently." "After she was told she would not be allowed in unless she went home and changed, [Taylor] became aggressive and belligerent and eventually police were called to escort her from the building," Abbott said. Police hired internally by the school district handcuffed the teen and placed her in a patrol car until she calmed down, Abbott said.No official arrest was made.
Meanwhile, the story has made national news and Taylor's picture has been all over the internet and TV news. She does not regret the dress and has become "famous" because of it.

If you signed an agreement to follow the school dress code for prom then you knew what was appropriate and what wasn't. She should have known wearing a dress that showed WAY TO MUCH of her body she wasn't going to be able to walk. And making a big scene about it is not helping her situation out.
Disgusting! That's what I say. Some people need to find a grain of common sense. she knew that she was not supposed to wear that kind of clothing. she signed a contract/form saying that she would dress appropriatly. So it is all her own fault. I would be embarrassed if i was her!
She knew that she wasnt to wear that kind of clothing to the prom she signed the agreement and turned it in. She was an idiot to make a big scene of that because she new before hand that if she wore something too revealing that she wouldnt be able to walk
She should have followed the guidlines that she agreed to when she signed the agreemnet. I think the school was in the right when they didnt allow her to go to prom. If she didnt follow the rules she should not beable to attend the prom. I dont know where in public that dress would have been appropriate especially at a school function.

i think that if she had signed a piece of paper to follow the school policy and they told her what she can and cannot wear they why did she go out and but i think that her dress showed way to much and sh shouldn't of wore it. She i dont think that making a big scene really helped her situation out... Some girls really need to grow up and dress more appropriate no body likes to see that stuff so.....
How hard is it to follow a few dress code rules? to some people its obviously too much for them to handle. This girl took the situation way to far. This news doesn't make her famous, it makes her look like a fool.

She should have realized that she isnt going to get into her high school prom with two pieces of yellow ribon on her breasteses. it is absurd to wear something like that into public school. if she was my daughter i would have bought her a dress from the 1950s. she should have known what the consequences of showing up in that dress would be. maybe she should have actually read the agreement that was passed out and then she wouldn't have to have been kicked out of the prom. its her own fault for not following the rules.

More stupid people doing ridiculous things and being rewarded for it by the general population. This shouldn't be news. So many schools, especially in large cities, need to avoid all physical contact with students which prevents them from dragging students away. This was a necessary action in response to a childish outburst by a common idiot.
i think this girl deserved the punishment she got.. she knew the rules and know she would be punished if she broke them and she did. and who wants to see her half naked? all she wanted was attention
