State Sen. Ernie Chambers is suing God. He said that he is doing this to prove a point about frivolous lawsuits.
The lawsuit accuses God "of making and continuing to make terroristic threats of grave harm to innumerable persons, including constituents of Plaintiff who Plaintiff has the duty to represent."
It says God has caused "fearsome floods, egregious earthquakes, horrendous hurricanes, terrifying tornadoes, pestilential plagues, ferocious famines, devastating droughts, genocidal wars, birth defects and the like."
The suit also says God has caused "calamitous catastrophes resulting in the wide-spread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth’s inhabitants including innocent babes, infants, children, the aged and infirm without mercy or distinction."Chambers also says God "has manifested neither compassion nor remorse, proclaiming that defendant will laugh" when calamity comes.
Chambers's suit was filed in protest at frivolous suits in general. It is not known when or if any hearings have been scheduled.

Completely silly. How can you sue something that you can't see let alone some people don't believe exists. Things happen, thats why it's called life. We can't go and blame everything that happens on something or try to always get a point across. Things just happen, sometimes it's no fun.. thats just the way it goes.
I can not believe that this guy actually tried to sue God. If this case goes anywhere it is a complete and total waste of money. I can see that he is trying to make a point about pointless lawsuits but he should not bring God into this.
You're most likely just an idiot if you try to sue God. God isn't someone or something you can sue. It's just not right and this guy shouldn't have ever even thought of this. I guess it did the job if he was just trying to get on the news for being a complete idiot
Everything about it is a joke. There is no possible way of winning so basically he is just wasting time and money by doing this. He is trying to prove a good point though. People will try anything nowadays to get money. He is showing how stupid some of the lawsuits have been.
I think this is kind of dumb. This guy is trying to sue God. Dumb. He may have his points, but don't bring God into it. If this thing goes anywhere, i think it will cause a lot of people to get mad and will cost money where it could be spent elsewhere. It will also take the time of the court which could probably be spent doing another more important case.
Good for this guy. God really needs to be put in his place. We have to show God whose boss. Just kidding, I understand where he is coming from. He is just making a point against how stupid some lawsuits actually are and he came up with one of the most ridiculous. I'm actually impressed that he had the balls to sue God.
Wow is this guy ridiculous! How can you actually sue God? This case is a total waste of our time, and money. It is not even right for a person to try and sue God. What an idiot! Personally if I ever did something like this i would feel so stupid that I wouldn't even try do it in the first place.
I actually think it is funny that this guy would even be that retarded. I mean, there must be some other way to prove that frivolous lawsuits are stupid, without making himself look like an idiot. This guy probably also has a lot of people mad at him for bringing God into a lawsuit and trying to charge Him of these acts. I just think it is funny.

This guy really needs to get a grip on things. Why would he even try to sue God? He knows that it is impossible, so why would he even do it? He is trying to prove a point, but he is doing it in an odd way.
I cannot not believe that this guy tried suing god it is completely silly. I think that thins happens and if this case goes anywhere it is an absolute dumb. I can see his point about thee dumb law suits that people try to do but he should leave god out of it it is not his fault that other do what they do. Things happen and it hurts others but that is just the way life goes and should really try and get over it

This man is not an idiot, he is simply trying to make a point. I doubt it will work. There are too many stupid people in the world, and not nearly enough of them will ever catch wind of this and even fewer will care. Judges and juries need to solve the problem that he hopes to fix.
this guy needs alot of help and put him in jail were he belongs.
