It is pretty sad to see that we spend a lot of our money on the interest of our debt. I believe that more money should be spent on Education because without an education, it’s hard for people to cover the expense of living if they only have a high school diploma. I thought it was interesting that a lot of our money goes towards the government. Income tax and state tax all go towards the government. I never knew why we really had to file tax I just did it. After the speaker, I learned a lot more stuff on why we file taxes. Yes, I will be filing taxes even though I made less than $8000.

Although defending our country is important, I find it sad that we spend so much money on defense. Because of all the money that we spend at home and in Iraq, we are in massive debt. It is sad to see that more money is spent on paying off interest on our loans than on education or the environment. I agreed with the lady who came when she said that our generation has got to get the politicians to pay more attention to more important things, such as the environment. I would love to see more money spent on education, so that every child has a chance to attend college when they graduate from high school. I think that whoever gets into office next should reevaluate America's spending and put more money into what really matters.

For the most part I think our money is going to the right places. Besides I would like to see our Loan debt go down, Education go up, military defense go down, and healthcare go up.I learned alot from the speaker. Yes I am filing taxes.

I dont like how much more money we are putting into military rather than education or health care. We have more than just the war to take care of and we are putting too much money into it.

I think more money should be spent on education and some more on nutrition. They go hand in hand sometimes. If you don't get proper nutrition your schooling and ability to learn can suffer immensely. Citizens complain about low test scores, more and more people can't and don't go to college.. Education needs to be a priority.. The government is dumb.

I think that we should spend less money on military and defense and spend more money on our heath care and education.

I think that we need to keep spending all the money we on military and defense. If we don't we are subjected to more drugs and more attacks on our home front. I think that we could spend more on our education and other stuff but we have to keep spending all the money on the military and defense. So go and stuff your mouths you dumb democrats

Thats kind sad we spend 558 billion on just military when we could be spending more on education and healthcare. I understand military is important but there are so many people out there dying to get into college but cant becasue of the cost. Yess, i learned alot from the speaker.

I think that our tax money is pretty much going to the right places. It kind of sucks that we spend so much on the national debt but i doubt it will change. I also don't mind to see so much spent on military and defense because it keeps our asses safe. America is the most hated country in the world so why would we cut our military spending and risk not having the equipment and military personal to defend our country. All the people that join the military get free education anyways so all you war haters and democrats out there can suck the big one!!!!!!

i am goign to file taxes. well what is there to say. im sure we wouldnt be in this situation if the president wasnt such an idiot.i mean seriously why would we elect a man taht had a c average throughout his college years and i beleive his GPA in college was a 2.35. somehow he gets into harvard with that. i wonder how he managed that one. Born witha silver spoon in his mouth is how. c average thats a joke if you want to be the president. in an interveiw he was asked if he had used marijuna or cocaine and he refused to answer either question hmmmm. interesting stuff. so would this guy in my opinion be qualified to run this great country of ours i dont think so. if anyone cant tell we are in bad trouble right now than i guess they are blind with ignorance or cant accept the fact that "their savior" george did anything wrong.he has destroyed this country. we are hated and laughed at by people around the world because of this stupid war that never should have happened. you think al quida bombed the trade towers. that total bullshit. pardon thy french but it had to be said. It was the Taliban but after the attacks this gave the president some ammunition to get the bill to pass to allow us to go to war with al quida. HES AN IDIOT. we didnt need to go there we didnt need to risk the lives of our troops for this. im not anti american and im not anti troops. i love the troops taht are serving over seas and i respect them for what they are doing. As for bush. when hell freezes over i will support him. Oh yeah and after stating all this the way we are spending our money is retarded just like our c average president.

To all you Bush hating, tofu farting liberals....
Nobody is stopping you from moving to Mexico. We need to spend a lot of money on our military and defense to keep this nation safe. All these liberal tv stations make the war look much worse than it really is. It is high risk to be out there fighting and therefore we must pay our troops good money. If we cut the spending on military and defense this nation will get taken over by liberals and the Taliban.

We spend remarkably more on our military than any other large country in the world, and much more on interest than we ought to. I thought that social security would be taking up a much larger chunk considering all the people saying how the baby boomers will ruin the national budget. I filed taxes.

I am glad to see that the second largest portion of our budget is going to health care, which is an important use of money. However, seeing that over half a tillion dollars is going to the military and defense is not settling well with me. I would like to see more money go to education,as i am going to college next year. I also am filing this year.

I'm not filing taxes, the stamps would basically cancel out my refund because not much was taken out. Personally, it's fine that they spend all this money on crap that doesn't matter, just get out of Iraq and let's get on with our lives and maybe spend some more money on education rather than defense. Maybe if they were more educated then all these pathetic kids that think it's funny to call liberals "fags" will figure out how stupid they sound.

There is way too much money going to the military compared to what I believe to be more important such as education and maybe paying off some of the debt maybe, we are so far in the hole in this country and we are just piling on more and more without a care. We have to reprioritize this list. I filed taxes this year already and I did it for free! I am so excited, OMG!

well, I would say that defending our country is very important, and we need to spend money to support it, but we also need to spend more money on our education so that when we do have to go out and defend our country we are ready and prepared to do it. Another thing is that no matter who becomes the president somebody is going to be mad about who it is...if you are a republican and a democrat comes into office...the republican is obviously going to be mad about it, and complain about everything that democrat does, and vise versa, I think you have to see both sides of the person other wise you dont really know what is going on.

I think that the way the federal government spends our money is not too bad. The interest on the debt shouldn't be even close to that high. More money could possibly go to education and nutrition. I will be filing for taxes and hopefully will be getting some money back. She said that its not as good to get more money at the beginning of the year than it is to get money through out the year but I would rather get that money at the beginning of the new year.

I guess i will comment on here... i looked over the spending and in reality, it is not so bad. Of course we are going to be spending a lot of money on defense. We ARE in a time of war. It is said that there will be a time for war and a time for peace. At this time, it is a time for war. As for taxes, I didnt make much, but I am still going to file for taxes. I feel that it is a responsibility of an American citizen to do so.

Its sad how much money we spend on defense. We are in debt from all the money we spend at home and in iraq. The money should be spent on education.

i think the money for taxes is going to where it needs to go and we shouldn't change anything

Most of you dont like how the U.S. is spending their money in the war on terrorism, but dont we want to be safe in our own homes? On 9/11 we were threatened on our own front porch. President Bush is going to make sure that doesnt happen again. Money isnt everything in this world. The world is not going to end because of our debt.

tyraho18 said...

I thought the lady's presentation was cool because she gave us an overview of how the govt is run, and where our money is being put.

i did thingk that this presentation was some what interesting. i definately didn't know we spend so much on our debt. and i feel we really need to spend more on our education, and health

i think it's sad that they are spending so much of our money on our debt. how do you think we got into debt! if we spend more on education and things that are important then we can slowly get our country out of debt.

I think that the majority of our tax money is going to the right places but I think that we could be spending more on education. I also think that our national debt is a little high. I learned alot about filing taxes from the guest speaker. I have already filed my taxes and received my return.
