I agree that big oil companies are not doing their best to keep gas prices low. The rising prices of food, gas, and everything else are weighing heavely on the minds of middle and lower class Americans. When asked why they didn't lower prices with such record breaking revenues, oil executives didn't have a straight answer. I think that the government should take away their tax break until they agree to lower their prices and help out the American people.
This is satirical about the oil companies and the "conspiracy" that they are just keeping up the oil prices in order to jack up the gas prices. I can't say I blame them though. If I was an oil company executive, I can guarantee that I would want to maximize profits in any way possible, even if it means that I would have to raise the oil prices to incredibly high amounts. Looking at the issue from the perspective of the oil company will harbor a different point of view.
I think that the big oil companies arent doing there job by keeping the gas prices low enough. The raising of food, gas and everything else is making it harder for americans to go to work and put food on the table. I Think that if the prices of things keep going up it people might starty going on welfare or even worse file for bankrupcy. And when congress put them to the test they couldnt even put out a straight answer. I think that the government should end there tax breaks until they agree to lower the price of gas. It would help the american people out alot.
Alex, I agree with what you said about oil executives wanting to maximize profits. However, oil is a good with no substitute and I wonder at what point the government will step in. Is this an unfair business practice? Should the government step in and regulate the industry?
yeah i think it is an unfair business because they are the only ones who have a say in the prices. they dont care about the people and how much it is affecting their lives. with prices of everything else going up its making it alot harder to live. nowdays it seems like people have more financial problems then anything else. if the prices werent such a problem there would be alot less stress out there!!

Middle class american and lower class americans cant affford these outreageous prices! I hate gas prices on a part time minimum wage job. Makes it in possible for any extra-ciricular activities.
Gas and oil prices are constantly lowering and increasing. When the gas prices decrease, they never get as low as they were before they increased. THis cartoon is a perfect example of how oil companies opperate. They slowly raise the fuel prices by the constant raising and lowering of prices.

I think that these big oil companies are just trying to make a huge profit. They continue to increase prices. I believe that the government should take away their tax break. Maybe then they would lower the gas prices so taht they don't make as much money and then they won't get taxed as much.
The oil companies are all big jerks. They are enjoying their large profits while I can hardly afford to keep my gas tank full. I wish they would take a look at how their consumers are suffering and do something about the rising costs of gas. They are plenty rich enough by now it doesnt make sense that they want prices set that high. With the summer tourism coming up they might be hurting from the high prices.
I agree with Alex that if i was a company executive I would continue to maximize my profits. There are no substitutes for oil, and everyone needs it, so the prices can just keep on being jacked up. I believe, however, that the government has to step in and do something about it. Though there are oil reserves in Alaska and other places, our main source of oil is coming from the Middle East and other foreign countries. I think the government has to reach some kind of agreement or fight these oil companies that are full of greed.

yeah i am wishing for three dollar gas so thier plan is working. they are going to steadly move the gas price up towards four dollars all summer and than the fall will come around and it will drop around three and we will all stop complaing about the three dollar gas and be happy with it. bascilly these oil companys are masters at munipulating us and we are all dumd to realize what is going on. i think we should "remove" these oil company exuitves or what ever they are ceo and maybe they will be replaced by someone who is not a 80 year old who is so rich that he wipes with hundred dollar bills.
Gas prices are disgusting and I believe the big guys are not doing all they can to keep the prices down, but i guess they can basically do what they want... gas will go up, food will go up and my wages will stay the same.

big oil is killing us we need to find alternative fuels to put em out of business like that will ever happen. but still big oil can go sucka fat one.
